As you can see I am on this dahlia flower tea bag fold kick.  I hope to move on to something else very soon, as I am trying something new.   Keep watching!
Card I made for Jo Goodwin, our neighbor that fell in her apt last week and broke her hip.  She is 88 years old and is recuperating in a nursing/rehab center.   She will be there at least 6 to 8 weeks.  I am worried about her  and she is more than depressed.  She wants to walk again and DRIVE.  3/21/2012
This is a card from Lucy Colaco in India.  Never had a card from India before.  The swap is Oriental Flowers and the group is Paper Craft, I rec'd it yesterday - 3/30/2012,  It is layered and has stickers on it.   Lovely card.  Her blog is: cardsnmorelucy.blogspot.com
Just had to add this adorable picture of Xavier Mason Harris.  He is always smiling.  He is my beautiful little (almost) 10 month old great grandchild.  His mother is Sarah and father is Dom. Sarah's Mom is my daughter Sherry.  His sister is Ashlynn and he loves his Sissy.
In this pix, he is in car seat in his Uncle Brent's car headed out to dinner and maybe some shopping.  Have not heard today what they did do last night.

Happy 15th Birthday, Ashlynn.   Love you, Grandma Margie   4/2012   Hummingbirds
A color plate illustration from Ernst Haeckel's Kunstformen der Natur (1899), showing a variety of hummingbirds.
I used  distress ink pad and distressed the edges.   Still learning the process.

Trish Davey on Card Crafts did a Iris Fold tutorial. I asked for the technique and she so graceouly did it. And then send me the card.  I rec'd the card on March 26, 2012.  I knew she did it with ribbon, but was totally surprised that the ribbon did not make it too thick.  I must try this soon.

This card went to Marge Jansen. She is elderly and not doing very well.
Slightly ascue in the scanner, but it is, what it is.   This a tea bag folded card, the design is a Dahlia flower.

Birthday card for Garner's Uncle.    It was from a themed swap technique. Party was the 3/24.
Trish Davey's requested cards to be sent to Ruth Ann King.  She is ill and having a tough time.  I made a Dahlia flowered card, much like the one previous.   I did forget to scan it.  It was not the best.

Ther are a couple of boo-boos, but the stripes had me dizzy, I promise it will be better next time.  I have always liked to do tea bag folding.

Taking a few days off from playing with paper and making cards.   Need, no, I want to finish a book I am reading.   A very good book that has taken me too long to read.   It is longer than most of my cozy mysteries, but a page turned, none the less.
Maybe I can get some practicing in on my embossing technique.  Now I am off to shower and then read, while hubby is at the ranch hunting.

This a card I made for Travis Lutz in Charleston, WV.   He has cancer and is not doing well.  It is also my first attempt at embossing.
A card made for Mary Farrington in the USA-CardMaking group.   Swap is for 3/2012 Anything Goes. Hope she likes it.

Two cards I rec'd yesterday.  Both frm the Card Craft group. The top card is from Anne Wittman and the bottom card is from Elizabeth Cooper.  They both were swap cards.  Aren't they nice!!

My first RAK (Random Act of Kindness)  and it is from Lynn Eagan in Colorado Springs, CO.  On the inside it says "May the Luck of the Irish Be Yours Today,  Happy St. Patrick's Day.   3/2012
Such a lovely card, and many thanks to Lynn for her kindness.

Just was looking at my cards that I have sent out.. Think I need another rubber stamp.  The wheat stamp is over done, for sure.
This is a card I made to day for Marianne Skriver in Denmark for the World Wide Paper Crafters.  It was a Sponging - a - Layer trchnique, not sure my card meets the requirements.  It was for the March Swap.
I think I have lost my inspiration lately.  And I over loaded my swaps this month.  Think I'll take a break in April.
Another really pretty card, this one is from Karen Rupert.  The group is USA-CardMaking and the swap is Anything Goes - a free style card.  Date 3/2012.

This a card I rec'd today from Judy Parr in Wales, for our CardMaking group.  It is the Sketch Technique for March, 2012.    Very lovely and well done.  It only took 5 days to get here.  Amazing!
Not to happy with this one.  But it is what it is.  This is a swap card for the cardmaking group I belong to.  Judy Parr was the host and designed the technique for this one.  It is for March 2012 and this one goes to Gabby Kime in Jackson, MI.   Hope she likes it and can over look the flaws.

Made another Swap card today, this one is for Lucy Colaco on Card Crafts. It is the Free Style for March, 2012.    It is Aribe (beads), stamped and a ribbon added.

Sunday, March 4, 2012

Made this card today, but the real one the ribbon blends in better than this photo shows.  For some reason the ribbon looks yellow, it is actually orange.  This card is embroidered and stamped.  It is for the March 2012 swap called Alpha Swap . It had to be animal, flower or color that starts with an "O".   I chose the color ORANGE.   And this card goes to Trish Davey in Australia.   I hope she approves.

Thursday, March 1, 2012

I made this card yesterday.   It is (I believe) called the sponged on layered look.  I used Distressed Ink, a rubberstamp and ribbon.  My first try at this ink technique, but will try it again.   I need to get my paper strips torn and attached better, also judge my distance for the stamp better.  This card is attached to a black card and has a black envelope to go with it, but all will be sent in an envelope same color as ribbon.
I decided to send this card to Chardon High School in Chardon, OH. This is where they had the 3 shot  and killed, others injured.  The school wants to paper a wall with all the cards they receive.
